Frequently Asked Questions
I only have a rough sketch - can you work with that?
Absolutely! We specialize in taking rough ideas and transforming them into production-ready designs. Many of our best projects started as napkin sketches or verbal descriptions. We'll work with you through sketching, 3D visualization, and refinement until the design matches your vision.
What CAD software do you use?
We primarily use SolidWorks for mechanical design, Fusion 360 for product design, and Rhino for organic shapes. We can deliver files in virtually any format: STEP, IGES, STL, Parasolid, native SolidWorks, DXF for laser cutting, and more.
Do you handle patent or IP protection?
While we're not patent attorneys, we can recommend IP lawyers and help document your invention for patent applications. All work is covered by NDA, and you retain full ownership of all designs we create for you. We never reuse client designs for other projects.
Can you help me find manufacturers?
Yes! We have relationships with manufacturers for 3D printing, injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, and more. We can provide quotes, coordinate production, and even handle quality control if needed. This is included in our Full Development package.
How much does a typical project cost?
Simple products (kitchen gadgets, organizers): $500-1,500. Medium complexity (electronics enclosures, multi-part assemblies): $1,500-5,000. Complex products (medical devices, mechanical systems): $5,000-15,000+. We always provide detailed quotes before starting work.
What if I need revisions?
Minor revisions during the project are included (typically 2-3 rounds per phase). Major scope changes are quoted separately. Our goal is your complete satisfaction - we work iteratively and keep you involved at every stage to minimize surprises.
Can you design for specific manufacturing processes?
Yes! We specialize in Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Whether you need injection molded parts, CNC machined components, 3D printed assemblies, or laser-cut panels - we design specifically for your chosen manufacturing method to minimize costs and maximize quality.
Do you offer rush services?
Rush services available for +50% fee. We can typically deliver Concept to CAD in 1 week instead of 2-3 weeks. However, we never rush prototyping or testing - quality and functionality cannot be compromised for speed.
Ready to Bring Your Product to Life?
Schedule a free consultation to discuss your project. We'll assess feasibility, provide timeline estimates, and give you a detailed quote - no obligation.
